The Louisville Invitational Tournament has been officially canceled for the first time in its 70-year history.
According to Jason Frakes for the Courier-Journal, tournament director Jerry Wyman made the decision based on weather:
LIT director Jerry Wyman announced Saturday morning that the tournament’s semifinals and final have been canceled because of the snow and ice that accumulated in Louisville on Friday.
“Secondary roads are too bad,” Wyman wrote in a text message to Courier Journal.
Originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday, the LIT semifinals and final had been pushed to Saturday and Sunday at Valley High School.
